About Us

Our Founders

Lin and Ron Wilensky co-founded Dave’s House in 2008 and were among the early advocates to address two complex social issues mired in stigma: homelessness and serious mental illness (SMI). Dave’s House was named in honor of Lin’s brother, Dave, who, like so many others, struggled with serious mental illness.

1 in 20 adults live with SMI and co-occurring disabilities.

Over the last 15 years, through their efforts and the diverse network of community support, hundreds of Central Floridians with SMI have achieved stability and safety through Dave’s House supportive housing.

The Dave’s House model started as a personal journey by Lin and Ron, and through the contributions of time, expertise, and financial support of them and the generosity of caring people and community partners have grown to encompass homes in Orlando, and Fairfax, VA. For this, we are truly humbled and grateful.

Dave's House is currently opening doors with the development of a new residential community in Sanford, FL.

Dave’s House breaks the cycle of homelessness for residents, allowing them to achieve stability while giving them new purpose and motivation and eliminating stigma, despair, and isolation.

Please watch the video below of Lin, in her own words, describe how Dave’s House is making a difference in people’s lives.
